 \n \n	\n \n	\n REGISTRATION\n	\n \n	\n This one-day (eight-hour) ha
nds-on workshop consists of a series of exercises and lectures focused on
the fundamentals of sequence stratigraphiy and deep-water sand depositiona
l systems using seismic record sections and wireline logs. The workshop ex
ercises are organized for geologists and geophysicists with introductory k
nowledge of stratigraphy and sedimentation and are formatted to enhance in
terpretation skills. The succession of exercises will expose the participa
nts to observation and annotation of sequence stratigraphic patterns, depo
sitional systems, facies analysis, and chronostratigraphic framework. Part
icipants will construct a relative sea level curve and area-time diagram t
o clarify concepts and terminology of the sequence stratigraphic methodolo
gy. Application of the methodology uses two regional seismic reflection pr
ofiles, one from the North Slope of Alaska and a second from the West Sibe
ria Basin of Russia. Both seismic profiles illustrate prograding cycles of
depositional clinoforms with no structural overprint thus facilitating ap
plication of stratigraphic principles. The interpretations lead to recogni
tion of shelf margin to basin floor plays.\n\n\n\n\n\n--- This iCal file d
